Why eating good and resting is important when building muscle

Why eating good and resting is important when building muscle So here is a common mistake a lot of people make when weight training, they assume that the more they work out the more muscle they will build. This is in fact false, when you are over training your body you are not allowing your muscles time to grow. So for example, you work chest today and tomorrow your chest is soar, then the day after it feels a little better so you decide to work chest again because you think the more you work your chest the bigger it will get. Wrong! Muscles grow when they rest, so try to give it about 72 hours between working the same muscle. This common misconception is the reason many people weight train and see little or no results.

Another mistake people make is that they work out too much in comparison to the amount of food they are consuming. See, if your working out and not eating, what happens is your body feeds off of the muscle since it has nothing else to feed off of. So what just happened? You just worked out hard and since you did not eat properly, your body just fed off of the muscle you were building. So enough about what people are doing wrong, here is how it should go.
1.Eat!Eat! Eat! , consume a good amount of protein so that when you work out, your body can feed on that instead of the muscle your building.

2.Work each muscle separately ( example: Day1 shoulders & traps, Day2 Chest & Biceps, Day3 Back & triceps, ect ect. )

3.Give each muscle at least 72 hours rest.

4.Taking days off is very important as well, i recommend at least 2 days off a week.

Try to eat 5 to 6 meals a day of decent portions of high protein. Such as egg whites, chicken breast, fish , and lean meats. For carbs, you wanna eat whole wheat bread instead of white, brown rice instead of white, wheat pasta instead of regular, and oatmeal. Very low fats! You want to eat LOTS of protein because your body does not store it so you will not gain fat from it. Plus your body will use the protein for energy wich will help with your workouts. And you want to eat the good carbs to be able to feed the muscle and give your body energy but you dont want to eat more then your body will use because your body will store it as fat. Also, i suggest eating 2 or 3 egg whites that way your body has protein to feed your muscle while your sleep so your body stays anabolic. Again, protein before bed is ok because it will not be stored. Make sure to do cardio before weight lifting, i will explain why in my next post.
